Stories & Plays for Adults

For adults

The Curious Case of Dr Mann made me realise not just how much commitment a novel takes (which I knew) but how difficult it is to market if you don’t have a nationally known publisher. As a result I still have a lot of copies left – and I guess the publisher does too! Never mind, it was a story I enjoyed writing.

I started writing short stories in earnest in Singapore where they were broadcast on the radio and then published in Traffic Island. This was reissued as Mixing It, a collection for schools back in the UK. A few others have seen publication here and there but it’s not something I’ve turned my mind to very often over the last few years. What I have done is to create stories in my head and then tell them to an audience, which is a very different experience, both for me and for readers or listeners.
