Not the most flattering of photos but at least I haven’t got my snorkel in my mouth. Having trouble understanding Jack’s jokes through the airpipe. Our last day in Borneo and a grand way to finish, snorkelling out on the coral reef, which is still in pretty good shape and hosts lots of fish of all colours and sizes. Caught sight of a turtle or two and realised they can put on quite a turn of speed. My first swim for a long time – then home to snow!

Our guide, Jonathan, and other excursion-boat operators, are advocates for the preservation of the coral and marine life in the area.
