Lincoln: Where to go when you want to find a quiet place to write the odd sonnet or compose a real letter to a friend you keep meaning to write to? (Remember letters? They were so nice to receive. Well, send one and you might get one back.) I found the Usher Gallery was fine to wander round but there’s nowhere to sit and muse, still less write. Next door, though, is the coolly named ‘The Collection’. Apart from the collection itself, there’s a spacious cafe area where you can sit with your coffee for as long as you like. The ‘Angel’ cafe, nearby, is smaller but has a cosy atmosphere.
