Orkney evenings are long, of course. This picture was taken at about 9.30 after we had left a little bar-restaurant on the harbour front called Helgi’s – highly recommended, by the way, for the food, the atmosphere and the service – and were taking a stroll alongside the lifeboats and fishing vessels.
